Every season, we’re honored to feature the powerful work of birth photographers who capture the raw, real, beautiful stories unfolding in labor rooms, birth centers, and homes across the world. In our Spring/Summer 2025 issue, we’re showcasing a selection of images that speak to the strength, softness, culture, and connection that surrounds the birthing journey.
These photographers offer more than just images — they offer moments of truth, of power, of everyday transformation. We’re proud to highlight their artistry in print and share their names, their work, and their presence in this movement.

"This striking image comes from a free birth, capturing the moment this mother was working to deliver her placenta after welcoming her baby. While most of it had released, a small portion seemed retained. With calm and trust in her intuition, she called her midwife from a previous birth for guidance. A simple suggestion, to cough, helped her body release what remained. Everything resolved smoothly, and this moment is a testament to her courage, wisdom, and strength as she navigated each stage of birth."
Placenta, Morgan Ziegler @mzieglerimagery
"Seven times she has crossed the threshold of birth. Each one has been so unique. Each one a miracle. Free birthing her children with a fearless heart and her own steady hands as she welcomes life."
Crimson, Madyson Stites @ejbirthingservices
The Postpartum Shower, Jennifer Lombardo @buffalodoula
"Welcome to the fourth trimester. The first few weeks of having a new baby has its own rushes and waves, from the deep and primal connection with this new life, to the grief of a changing body and new chapter of our lives. As a new parent, I am just as raw and sensitive as my newborn. But one thing is for sure, having children dispels the illusion of separation: my health, joy, connection, and grief are mirrored and shared with my new baby."
